1969 carter avs 4618

I am currently looking for a 4618 for my 1969 M code CUDA....and I am seeing 4618S and 4618SA.....is there a difference between these? Was the “A“ added after a certain date? Any help greatly appreciated

The "A" denotes over the counter replacement I believe. I have a 4618S date code H8 for sale that is right for a C01 built M-Code, PM if interested.
