1969 gts 383 4sp numbers matching

I was wondering how do I go about finding more out about my car which I bought back 3 years ago. It seems to have originated down in Ohio according to the Certificate of Title back in 1997 stating to have 20,906 actual miles ( now about 26,000). I have talk with 3 previous owners and then things have dried up. Any help would be appreciated, Bob.

The car is now in Ontario, Canada and it was sold to me by a fella from Macom, Mich. There appears to be a person before 97 but I cannot locate him, Bob.

It is the Bronze metalic, T5 I do beleive.
