How does the ignition switch trim piece mount to to the dashboard?
I am definitely missing a piece.

It goes in from behind the dash frame. The plastic trim goes on then the bezel. If you have the light option it gets sandwiched between the housing and plastic trim.

Thanks! Still having trouble figuring out what holds the Switch to the frame to support everything.
This seems so easy but I can't seem to figure it out. :banghead:

I install the switch from the back of the dash and the trim from the front then used the bezel to clamp everything in place to the switch but the whole thing just flops around in the frame.

On the 67 set up I have there is a metal bracket that secures the switch to the frame so when I tighten the bezel there is a clamping affect against the dash frame. This is something I don't have with the 69 pieces I have.

Bill whats the plastic bezel look like from the back? Is it cracked/broke?
Here's pics of mine

I still have dash frame in shop. Ill gather pieces up and reply back.
Fyi mine is 69 barracuda same as 69 dart

Here's pics. Mine wobbles a bit too. I think there is a steel shim/plate missing. It may go in the back between switch and the metal box/housing?? More digging for the plate/shim. Anyone got a pic of it??

Crap! mine doesn't have the Dash frame bracket as seen in your photos 1 and 2 .on :
I'll have to make something up.

Yes that would be an issue.

It also has the locating tab for centering and holding it from turning.

Hope the dash is not re-finished yet. If so you may want to epoxy it on.

D'oh! Yes. my dash is done (well I guess not now. ugh!)
I suppose If I find the bracket I'll try some panel bond to set it in.

Anyone have a bracket laying around???

Thank you everyone for clearing that up.

Kind of wish I was just missing a shim right now ;)
