In 1969 Plymouth installed the 440 Magnum engine in 303 fast back Barracudas, this is one of those 303 vehicles. A Plymouth dealer in Vancouver, British Columbia (Johnston Motors) ordered six of these cars (in sequence) and only one of the six was Sunfire Yellow (Y2), this car. All of these cars came with from the factory with a torqueflite automatic transmission, centre console and bucket seats. Because of the large physical size of the engine, these vehicles all came from the factory without power steering or power brakes. These cars are referred to as M-code cars because of the "M" in the VIN indicating the rare 440 engine. When this car was restored in 2002, most of the parts were original due to low mileage, otherwise NOS and date coded/period correct parts were used. Currently the car has 45,122 original miles on it.
This car has won numerous awards plus it's been featured in two muscle car magazine articles including the 2020 fall issue of the Canadian magazine “Muscle Cars Bone Stock & Modified”. Recently appraised (in May 2023) for $125,000 CAD ($93,750 USD) while Hagerty values a #1 car at $138,000 USD ($186,000 CAD) and a #2 car at $95,600 USD ($129,000 CAD). I'm asking $115,000 CAD ($85,000 USD) for the car but other serious offers will be considered. I've owned the car for twelve years and it's now time for a new caretaker.
