1969 Valiant Horn Button Removal?

Here’s my steering wheel with horn button.

Can someone verify that the center disc/cap is concealing the nut/screw that is holding on the horn button?

I researched here and found that I need to remove the center disc/cap of the horn button to access the nut/screws underneath.

It feels like the center disc/cap is going to break if I pry on it any harder than I already am.

It will come out. Old padding is stiff and there is about a 3/16 to 1/8 tab all way around to work out of padding. Good luck.

Heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun. there is a tab on one end you will have to pry out on the opposite end.

Turns out you can epoxy them in too. Someone did not want this removed… in one piece. Disc/cap is out and had a wad of epoxy like substance holding it permanently in place. I’ve removed it in pieces and will just 3D print a replacement. Thanks for everyone’s help.
