1970 dart hood issue

My 1970 dodge dart hood will not stay up when i open it, it just drops right down with no tension whatsoever....what do i need to fix it? This is my first classci car

i would guess you'd need to find new hood hinges or have yours restored

There are springs under the fenders that may not be there or are not hooked up. Look in from the door opening or down from the motor compartment to see if you can figure out what is going on without removing the fenders.

Yes, or you can remove the inner splash shields also. They are located in side the fender well towards the door.

They are flat like a clock spring not long and cylindrical like a regular coil sring.

all mine has is a coil spring
