Last 6 digits 407301.
Any information or leads appreciated.

Chances are not in your favor unfortunately. The vast majority of 3 speeds that get removed end up in the scrapyard.

Curious what part of the world the car was in when it lost its pairing to this original trans?

You should post your last 8 of the vin. Most searches are done with the last 8

H1B 407301 340 DEMON with trim tag and build sheet
I purchased the car as a 4sp 8/2006 from Ohio 44216, may have come from Pa prior to Ohio.
I don't know when the original trans was swapped
It is one of the 900+ I code (for export) 340's
Currently undergoing a "restification".

I have a complete 3 speed with shifter and shift rods that was removed from a 72 340 Demon. The 340 3 speed trannys have a different gear ratio PM me if interested.
