1972 A-Body 833 4-Spd 23 Spline Transmission for sale. Vin Pad: 2B263647, PP833...3773...0016. Build date 23 Nov 1971 and Hamtramck plant. No water or damage inside, and input shaft has not been cut. Has shifter interlock side cover and hand shifts thru all gears and reverse and input/output shafts turn by hand. Pilot is 4.354" PN#C94796 and output shaft fits the small slip yoke. Asking $500 and would prefer local pick-up as closest freight is Tucson. Not sure if the local UPS will accept but can try if buyer pays packing & freight. Please contact me via PM for any questions and thanks for looking. I am a new member here, but I have been a member of FBBO since 2009 so I am not a newbie...

Hello
I’m interested in the transmission. I sent a message earlier but not if you received it. I’ll send someone to pick it up next Saturday. Thank you
Brad

Sry, I checked Fri or early Sat last. I mostly hang on FBBO. I sent a response to your PM...

Dang I was thinking I was doing something wrong. Please send me the address so I can coordinate with my driver. I appreciate it
Thank you
Brad

It looks like this has the 2:47 close ratio gearset from the T/A cars, do you know if A bodies ever had that ratio or maybe the gearset was just changed out. thx

As Sgt. Schultz would say, "I know Nothing, NOTHING"... All I know are the vin stampings and when I checked inside the case, it did not seem to have been gone thru before. Wayne Brewer does seem to point at least to the fact it is 2.47 gearset by the 3 grooves on the gears.

thanks, I have been researching for a little while, have not been able to really find a definitive answer. I thought only T/A cars had them, but who knows, record keeping not a priority in 60s and 70s. looks really clean inside, wish I was closer by several states.lol
