I am completing the rebuild of 1972 Duster 340 4 speed. The car now has an A-855 latest gen 5 speed in front of US Gear lightning rear gears. Many quality upgrades were added such as 11.75 discs with 2nd gen Viper calipers, 16.1 steering manual box, Bilstein shocks, QA1 upper arms and struts. No expense spared to return this look and function of the car but making it look as original as possible.

Isn't it great putting the car back together with all clean parts. Its a little hard to drive it and get it dirty. Looks great I like what you did so far.

#5204's. The first set of new headers I bought and installed. Took one day for each side. Who needs directions!
Beautiful car!

Any info. on your 5 speed install? I'd love to convert my A-833.
Car looks awesome. Nice build.
It's a straight forward installation. Make sure the motor mounts are on properly! I made that mistake! It's easy. I can't say enough about Peter Bergman's help! He was my go to guy during the build.

There is two thing I would change before you drive it.

The breathers ,

Get a Mr. Gasket Evac system using aspirator valves on the headers. You will not believe how it stops all blow by or seepage. The engine compartment and chassis stay dry. You should to move the passenger side breather to the front . But its not necessary.

Watch that Master cylinder the lids seep fluid and ruin the paint. I see members using the newer style with a plastic reservoir. That's a smart move to save the paint. I wouldn't want to see all that work destroyed.

Hey OMM,
Out of curiosity, would you put those nipples before or after a O2 sensor if you were running EFI? or a AFR guage?

Ive also seen a guy put a little vacume motor under the fender to vent the breather/crankcase back in my GM A body days. What say ewe?

Thanks!

Got the car aligned and drove it enough to bed the hawk pads. I'm very happy with the front suspension and brakes. I owe Peter Bergman a tip of the hat for suggesting the Viper Calipers and 11.75 rotor. I have manual steering and brakes and it responds like a different car!

Peter Bergman is nothing shy of a grade A class act. He is one hell of a nice guy. Beautiful car!
