So, I have a 1974 Dart Sport that I am putting an aftermarket hood scoop on (I could not afford a decent OEM one).

I have the original mounting hole locations (from member 7demon2) for an OEM scoop but since mine is not OEM I need a little help.

Just need to know how close the scoop is from the back edge of the hood.

This is what I have using 7demon2's information.

Does this 3 1/2" match what an OEM scoop is?

Thanks in advance!

Make a paper template of the underside of the scoop and compare it to the strengthening ribs on the underside of the hood. Most of the time, the holes were in the middle of the ribs attached with flange nuts. Use a 3/8" or 1/2" hole saw to cut the holes on the rib and let the pilot bit mark the sheet metal so you can drill through for the mounting studs. Take your time, "measure twice, drill once".

Anybody, if you have this style hood scoop (Duster or Dart doesn't matter) I just need to know how far it is from the back edge of the hood.
My research puts it at around 3 1/2" back but I would like to be sure before drilling into this hood.
Little help please.
Thanks
