Hello,
I have a 1973 Dodge Dart Swinger Custom for sale. The car is pretty much all original except for its engine. The engine is a rebuilt 318 which was drawn from a Dodge pickup. The engine has a few upgrades such as an Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley 650 CFM 4BBL carburetor, MSD Blaster 2 ignition coil, and a new distributer with brand new spark plugs. The transmission is a 3 speed auto 904, yet I am not certain if the transmission is the original one. The interior is immaculate! There is however a few tears on the driver’s side of the bench seat where the stitching is done, but I do have a whole reupholstered front bench seat which will be given to the new owner. All of the wiring has been redone and all the gauges and all lights work except for the turn signal which cable was disconnected when the alarm was taken off. All the chrome is in good shape, and the glass is perfect. The rubber molding around the windows is also in good condition. The car has the original Rally style rims. Also has a stereo system. A few pieces of the broadcast sheet are also available. Power brakes and steering are also in great working order.
Some history of the car: It was delivered to Los Angeles to the woman in Van Nuys who bought it as a grocery getter in 1973. In 1981 the lady and her husband moved to the Oakland are for a few years and came back with the car. About 7 years ago, the now 97 year old woman gave the car to her mechanic son (He is the one that installed the new engine). He then sold the car to a gentleman in Chatsworth who installed the intake manifold, carb, and ignition parts (He drove it for 500 miles) I then bought it not long ago as a cruiser, but I found out that I will be going to college far away pretty soon and now have began to realize that I will not have time for the car, and I absolutely would hate to see it sit for 4 years and end up being a lost cause. The car was also originally green with a black vinyl top. It also had A/C yet the compressor is removed and the evaporator was thrown out. The vents is still attached under the dash though! The car had a CB radio but the radio was lost, but I do have the antenna and the mount is still present on the car.
I believe in Karma and won’t lie. Transmission pan gasket leaks about a drop a week from the bolt yet I have a kit to replace the gasket and the filter. The car does have some rust. It has a hole in the trunk pan area where the spare tire is stored and is about 3 inches wide and 4 inches long. There is also a 3 inch hole on the passenger’s side skirt. This is a hole on the surface sheet metal and it’s not on the body/chassis itself. If not sold by summer, during my summer vacation I will remove the rust and weld in a new piece of sheet metal. Also, about a half inch of surface rust on the quarter panel under the paint. When the old vinyl top was removed, moisture was accumulated and the roof was rusted on the surface. I immediately wire wheeled the entire roof, applied POR 15 and rust inhibitor and now it’s ready to be redone and painted or have new vinyl put on. Around the rear window though, there is a few rust spots from the vinyl top. They will all be welded up and repaired properly by the start of summer vacation. Otherwise, there is no rust on the car anywhere else, and its clean!
Like stated earlier I have parts I will also give like a Quadrajet Carb off a 1971 Formula Firebird, bench seat, window cranks, emblems and decals, extra lights for the tail lights and side, gas cap, alternator, original distributer, air cleaner assembly, AC compressor, N.O.S belts and a lot more!
Asking $4,000
