Our derbys only pay a $300 prize. I would hate to pay $1200 for a car, for a chance to win $300

WOW!
Friend of mine won 10.000 with a 2000.00 car that I sold him.
Go figure
Don't run in a cheap derby!
Plus, in drag racing, how much do you spend on a car to go 13s and get just a trophy? If your lucky!!
Then you spend thousands on a show car, just to when a trophy if your lucky.
Lot of it just the sport and have fun with it.
So in short, that 300 comment was :eek:ccasion:

Yes,but I think previous posters are saying you can enter that same car in a thousand car shows...or drag races, and keep winning trophys (and $$$ too!). Once this wagon goes through 1 derby, its dead.
With a derby car, you sell parts from it when you strip it if you have a car that is popular. Then you sell it for scrap. More of a hobby than anything. I have built bracket cars and derby cars up till 2000 for 20 years. Made good money on both sports.
