Starting my first project on a 1974 dart. fairly new to this site as well as new to a lot of the things i'm gonna have to do to get this car right. Car was originally a slant six car and will be getting a built 340 eventually. I'm terrified to cut metal on this car on a few spots (quarter, rocker panel, etc.) I guess there is only one way to learn. I'm super stoked to get this started. Might have a few questions down the road for some of the restoration veterans.

Last hurricane blew the shop down so i just finished closing it back in and getting it right. Had the car for about a year now sitting in a warehouse. Still have a few things left in the shop to get right (60 gal air compressor, wiring) before i really sink my teeth into the car. I'm just excited to finally get started.

Man I had no skills when I started mine! Not sure if I do now. It sure is a lot of fun though!

yeah it is. I agree i'm always learning something new. Old man had a 73 challenger and now has a 69 superbee A12 clone. I've helped with his stuff very little but glad i've finally got a project of my own (he won't let me drive his **** lol)

This weekend didn't get much time with the car but got little man to help me prep the inside for 2 coats of POR15. Also did some sanding on some places to find out some not so good lead work with a bunch of bondo. I'm good minded to strip all the current primer off the car now to see what else is hidden under there.

If anyone can enlighten me a little on a question i have it would be greatly appreciated. As shown in the 1st group of pictures i posted of the car, it has the low mounted bumper with the space for the tail light assembly above it. Would it be possible to fit the tucked in bumper with tail light inside the bumper from a 71-73 car on this 74? i like the look better and it seems easier to find those bumpers than the tail light assembly.
