Hi Everyone, I'm very excited to be joining the community, I've been a long-time lurker and I'm excited to finally join. I started working on my first car when I was 14 with my dad, a 1973 Dart that we put a 318 into (the one with the racing stripes pictured below). The body was beat to hell, but it was so fun to get it up and running and we got her presentable with bondo and love. It was my daily driver through highschool and I only stopped driving it when the suspension gave up the ghost and I didn't have the time/money to fix it. That car was a budget project and always had issues, but helped me to discover my love of cars. Jump ahead to the present, earlier this year I bought a gorgeous 1974 Dart Swinger (light blue w/vinyl top) that came with a 360 V8 and a 727 trans on the side. The body is in great condition and I'm planning to build it from the ground up and do it right so it can become my daily driver. I've gutted the car and I am looking to replace pretty much every major system, but I'm lacking a lot of the knowledge and expertise needed to take on a project like this so I'm hoping to glean a lot from you folks!
So far I've picked up a complete replacement for the power steering system and a front end rebuild kit from Bergman Autocraft as well as a new harness from American Autowire. My next goal is to source the headers/exhaust, fuel system (I'm looking into doing an EFI conversion), and brake system (power disc brakes). I consider myself very much a novice mechanic, and would honestly love any advice, tips, and feedback that anyone is willing to offer.
