1974 dart swinger build

so after searching the web for about a year for a decent abody with a v8 finally found one sitting in a guys yard 1/2 mile from my buddys house. Now its time to get it in shape, the guy i bought it from has a 85 318 magnum that he bought for the car from the guy that builds his motors suppose to be totally rebuilt stock he will sell to me for $200.

Need to figure out what i need to do get the some good hp out of it. planning on a dana 60 cut down to fit (cars already mini tubbed) has a stock 727 and 7 1/4 posi now. picked up a set off headers on trade over weekend, car has 318 with edelbrock 4 barrel intake and edelbrock 1414 carb.

shooting for bad a$$ street and strip car (kindof stuck on 318 )

Did you mean to say 1995 318 magnum? If it is an 85 it may not be any better than the 318 that currently resides in the car and it wont be a magnum motor. Make sure it is a magnum motor or I would pass on the $200 purchase.
