Annapolis, MD. Asking $22,000 but price is very negotiable. Excellent driver condition, spectacular interior. More photos at 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger for sale by owner - Annapolis, MD - craigslist

An elegant vehicle for a more civilized age. Paint is original and absolutely everything works. Bought in 2014 and lovingly maintained as a daily driver. Drives like a dream, gets compliments everywhere. Slant Six engine rebuilt in 2020 starts on first turn of the key. Automatic transmission, power steering, manual disk brakes. AM radio, no A/C. Some rust spots in rear quarters; absolutely zero rot anywhere else. Right front fender panel was replaced in the 1980s. Everything else is rock solid and original including floor pans, trunk pan, and frame. Comes with all my records and notes, plus a box of spare parts and some tools if you want.

Summary of major repairs and upgrades follows, more or less in the order they were done from 2014-2020. All work was done by me and my son except where indicated.

Suspension/steering
- New bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering arms.
- New rear leaf springs.
- Steering gear professionally rebuilt.

Brakes
- Converted front drum brakes to disk using 1973-1976 factory or equivalent spindles, rotors, calipers, master cylinder, and front/rear proportioning valve.

Drivetrain
- Replaced rear differential with factory 8 1/4" limited-slip (2.71 gear ratio). Pinion preload was set professionally.
- Replaced factory wheels with Mopar 14" Rallye wheels (4.5" bolt pattern).

Body/Interior
- Rebuilt front bench seat with new spring, padding, and vinyl cover.
- Touched up rust spots in rear quarters. It wasn't a perfect job, lasted about 10 years.
- Adjusted door and window alignment.

Electrical/instruments
- New voltage regulator, ignition coil and ballast resistor.
- Replaced windshield wiper bushings, hoses, and connectors.
- New light bulbs everywhere.
- Rebuilt fuel gauge sending unit.

Cooling
- Rebuilt radiator and core (professionally done).

Engine
- Rebuilt at 93k miles. Had machine shop mill block and head to increase compression to around 8.9:1 static, and bored cylinders .030" oversize. Replaced valves and pushrods as needed. Had camshaft reground for slightly longer duration.
- Replaced factory one-barrel carburetor and intake manifold with late 1970s Chrysler 2-barrel Super Six.
