I got the Scamp February 2nd.

I paid $700 for it.

We have to fix the rust, finish the interior, paint it, and rebuild the engine.

It has a slant six from a Duster I believe.

We are gonna pull out the engine tomorrow.

(I'll put some pics up tomorrow.)

Welcome to FABO Kontomarke:cheers:
That is a nice Scamp you've got there......I love vinyl roofs, but why is it they have to rust under them???? I want to put one on my 1972 Demon some day.
Yes, be sure to keep posting your progress, and are you pulling the leaning tower of power to rebuild or are you transplanting a V8 into it?

Looks good the rust in the roof should be an easy fix. There are guys here with some nasty roof rust and they are fixing it. How about some details and plans for your ride?

I'm thinking orange (or yellow) paint. Black vinyl roof. One of those bumble-bee stripes around the back and a black interior.
Or
White instead of orange for the outside and a red inside.
Or
A black outside and red inside but probably not.

I am gonna keep the slant six in it.

We just got the engine out (finally) we pulled the transmission with it.
(I'll put up pics tomorrow or maybe tonight if I get them downloaded.)

I am going to try and get the trans off tomorrow.
If I don't have enough time for that I will just clean up the engine compartment as much as I can until it gets dark.

Finally got back to working on it and got the trans off of the engine.
This weekend I want to start getting the engine situated in the garage.

So for paint a decided that I want it as cheap as possible without looking awful. I want a kind of primer grey with a wide black racing strip.

Would I be able to get it smooth enough with primer with a clear coat? And how does that car spray paint look. (If it is applied very very patiently and correctly.)
