1975 Scamp Engine Bay Restoration

Thanks TQ! Not a total loss, we were able wrap in cardboard to protect other areas! I say this was much more enjoyable in the heated garage than at the sandblaster in the cold!

Thanks, but, I can not take the credit for the cardboard idea, the body shop that I am taking it to for sandblasting gave me this idea. Probably went way overkill! He said it will help prevent the chance of a oops! Even though we are only sandblasting K-Member & suspension/steering components, he said it can still pit the windshield and paint. We can not afford the paint job this year, so protecting what we can!

Was able to go sandblast today! All turned well! Now to cleanup, prime then, back to the body shop for paint!

It has been a great and busy weekend. Picked up car from the painter, painted K-member and suspension linkage. I was even able to start putting things back together! Will be picking up Short Block from machine shop on Tuesday and start to reassemble! Things will hopefully go together fast from here!

Picked up motor from machine shop this morning. Got started on getting it together. We are finishing up motor assembly tomorrow, then we will have to wait :( We are approx. 1 month out yet from finishing, over budget! Need to save some $ to buy TTI headers and stall convertor.

Motor set in place... Transmission bolted in... Ah... Success! Here is a sneak peek! Accessories just sitting in place... Had to do a mock-up just to see how it will all look! Accessories just sitting in place just so we can get a picture!

Looks like you put plenty of work into it...wish I could actually stick around long enough to work on mine, but I'll be away for a few years overseas

Getting Closer! Had time to fix interior lights, including dash light, none of them ever worked! We are ready for headers and fluids, we may need to disassemble some to get headers in, but we now know everything fits!
Soon we will be :burnout: !

Did you paint the coil? I thought I'd be the only nut job with a green coil. :D
