I purchased a 2.5 in universal X Pipe kit and a set of Dynomax 2.5 in
Ultraflo welded mufflers about a month ago.A couple of my car buddies
think i should use a 3 in system. I would like your opinion on this. The
car is a 72 Pro Street Demon. Motor is a .030 over 340, 11-1 Trw pistons,
Cam Dynamics solid lifter cam .585 lift, duration @ .050 is 260, Hooker
super comp headers 1.75 in diameter, 750 Holley with Proform main body,
4:56 gears with a 29 in tall tire. Heads are ported X and a Victor Jr intake.
Motor spins to 7000 rpm .Thanks for your input.

2.5" will support your combo just fine. Tell your friends you don't need to compensate for anything like they do. lol

i would have built a 3" system but thats mainly since i like to have alitle space to grow,
i think that 2½" will be just at the edge of being enough for the level you are at, i dont think it will be a big loss in power, nice thing about keeping pipesize down is that the car wont be louder than necesary, 3" on a highcompresion, big cam 340 has a habbit of getting alitle loud.
for all out power 3"
if you want a car that is alitle easier on your neighbours ears and that will be alitle more stealty and can live with the possbillity of a small loss in power go for 2½"
since you already have the 2½" kit i would use it
