2 barrel Carter carb problems

Just overhualed engine and carb. Engine starts and idles perfect, accelerates correctly but if you hold throttle above an idle at a constant speed it surges badly and will load up and backfire. any suggestions? Need help!!!

Is this a B&B carb on a /6 or a 318 or a big block,Mrmopartech.Sounds like a float level problem?

Factory carb on 318. I will double check float tommorow. Float adj were double checked before I put it back together.

Ended up being in the distributor. Must have some worn out bushings on dist shaft. Thanks for your reply.

yank it off and throw it away reconditioned replacements are cheap Remember this you cant turn **** into ice cream its just not economically friendly it takes way too much sugar
