I am replacing my whole fuel system (new cell , Holley black pump , Fram HP canister filter , new 8AN line). Basically what I have now but everything will be new , it's time. Anyway , reason for this post is someone said I should be running a 100 micron inline filter BEFORE the pump , then keep my current one AFTER the pump. I have never done this before nor have I ever had any problems. Should I be doing this 2 filter setup or is it overkill? Car is street driven now, if that makes any difference.

Yes usually you run 2 filters. One before the pump and one before the carb. 100 micron and 10 micron. Usually a cartridge style with a replaceable insert.

Thank you , I never have and had the same pump for many years but want to prolong my new one. I'm looking at one of those Holley bullet style filters 100 micron for before the pump. Small for clearance and right in line. Then I'll run my 10 micron like usual after. Thank you!

If you've got the space, some filters can screw into and out of the pump. The pump probably has 3/8 pipe thread. You can get filters with that and an AN fitting on the other side.
