I got a 2001 ram 9.25 rearend for 100 today i know its the big 5x5.5 bolt pattern has anyone used one of these housings or am i wasting my time with this one???? I am planning on narrowing it about 14 inches its track width is 67.4" what is the factory A Body Im planning on installing it in my scamp

They're heavy and are not as strong as a Dana 60. They are also C-clip style rear ends so if an axle breaks at the track, you're in deep ****.

You would be better off buying an 8 3/4" rear out of a larger car and narrowing it.

It is lighter, plenty strong and the axles are available and reasonable in price.

Center sections are available used at decent prices (probably because they are robust and rarely suffer failures, except in high HP race applications!).

a 9.25" rear out of a truck is good to use in another truck , but not economical or a good performance improvement for an A-body car.

Just my $.02

IMO,

Bob
