I can't believe its been 2 over years since I posted this. Anyhow, I don't recall have any problems with overheating on my car with the 26" radiator on the 22" opening until this year. It always seemed to run about 180 cruising and about 200 maybe 210 when at a long stoplight. All of a sudden this summer it would run a couple days and be fine, then start to overheat bad after just a few miles. It seemed that it was boiling over and would take nearly a gallon of coolant to run another few day cycle from good to badly overheating and boiling over. It didn't a coolant overflow container so I looked around a found one that may be correct for the car. Although it didn't solve the problem, I became less of an environmental menace leaving a deadly trail of antifreeze in my wake. I thought of adding a shroud, but with the 26" radiator and the coolant overflow container, a shroud for the 26" radiator might not fit. The overflow container is somewhat doing its job siphoning back some coolant, but not nearly enough to replenish the system which seems to be the reason for the over heating. I've checked thermo, water pump, ran the heat, flushed the system, have no leaks and even switched the 16lb cap with a 13lb all to no avail. I think i have the correct clutch fan that seems working correctly. My only guess is that it needs a shroud to make it work correctly when stopped during the summer as there are no issues when the weather is cool. Long post I know, but if anyone can come up with a viable solution please let me know. I'll even go so far as to get the correct 22" radiator and shroud so that it can leave the overflow container in place.
Thanks
