273 question

Is the block notched to clear the power steering box on the 273's? I'm about to pull one and wasn't sure if that was factory or the work of a handyman.

I don't think so, I have never heard of one being different than the other. Must be some backyard engineering!

That is what I am afraid of. It looks like the block was ground to give clearance for the p/s box. It's about the size of a fist.
