273 solid lifter lube question.

Hi folks.
I'm doing the heads on my 64 Valiant and I have a question about lube to the lifters. I see that the lifters have no feed hole for the push rods (obviously because the the rockers are lubed through the shafts),but I also see that there are large lube holes in the lifter bores. Are these just lubed by gravity or splash through those holes? It seems that feeding pressure there would be pointless.

It's called the lifter oil gallery and is pressure fed oil from the oil pump.
