So I have never had a 273 before. I got this 69 valiant with a 273 and the dipstick was missing. So I happened to have an extra dipstick from a junk 68 318.

It reads a over the full line, so either that's correct or I have the wrong dipshit. ???

If the engine has the OEM dipstick tube I can get you the measurements on the dipstick.

Al alternative method is to change the oil.

Add the propper amount of oil taking into account the extra needed for the oil filter.

Let's assume the book calls for 4 qts plus 1 qt for the filter. You put the 5qts in and drive it till it's up to temp. Let it sit for 10 minutes and pull the dipstick. Where ever the level is, is the full level.

67 Dart 273 dip stick ( this only works if you have a stock 273 pickup and pan)

Thanks so much. Looks spot on to what I have.

The 273 is complete once again :)

Put the dipstick in and gave it a bath. Apparently 69 273 engines are supposed to be what looks like the same red as the mid 60s slants.

This is my first 273 so this is interesting...
