2843875 head casting# on 318 head

Back again.
The motor I bought has been rebuilt and the heads have been worked and I want to go to the 302 heads but the ID# is to have to pull the head? I got the casting # off of the head under the valve cover. Can anyone tell me from that # if these are just stock 70's heads before I pull them and find out that it might have 302 heads already? Just saving a gasket set and time if I can. Thanks

I'm sure the number is 2843675. Those are 318 heads with 1.78 / 1.50 valves.

Thats what I thought. The heads are off and they are not closed chamber heads...the new ones will be. Thanks for your help Jet.

'302s' came into production around late-'85; RWD 5th Ave's are a great source for these as well as the oil filter adapters that swing the filter down and back. Why spend money that you can save while recycling all at the same time?
