I am replaceing my gas tank (new one in the box came with the car when I bought it last Fall). Currently, it's a 225 car, within the next year, I am installing a 383 / 727. I want to install a new 3/8" sending unit instead of the stock 5/16" since I will be replacing the fuel lines with 3/8 when the 383 goes in. What can I use to connect the 3/8 sending unit to the 5/16 line in the meantime?

If you go out and buy some new 5/16" rubber fuel line it should stretch over the 3/8" outlet on the sending unit. Don't bother trying it with the old line, it will be hardened and won't stretch, that'll just give you a headache. You'll have to buy the good quality line, not the Chinese stuff. My Napa has both, I make sure I specify I want the Goodyear made line instead of the "cheap" stuff.

Just FYI, most of those 3/8" senders have an additional outlet/inlet for a return line that you'll have to plug if you're not going to run one.
