30-day countdown to 12's

-
Thank you for saying that.
It’s true. You’ve put a TON of work in to that engine and the car. It would suck to not have some kind of payoff at the end. Set deadlines. I work much better that way. When I had to have my truck done for a wedding it made me work harder on it. I also make lists on a board in my garage and checking stuff off beings a level of accomplishment that keeps you moving forward.

28 days and counting... to run 12's....
Removed the seat cover as it was turning to dust... got back at least 1 lbs of the drive shaft loop... lol
I also have had this idea on the front bumper. Going to try something that may (or may not) enhance the look.... hmmm... and will be a weight reduction. So, I removed the front bumper and brackets today. Small window of time opportunity, but I got something done :)

I heard they look the best (and weigh the least) when the front bumper and brackets stay on the floor of the garage.

My vision is somewhat of that of a '71-72 Dart front bumper. Thin. I'm not sure if I can make it happen but I'm gonna try.

Interesting. I have all of that stuff here also. If yours looks good I may copy you. I know Kindig uses the thin 67-69 Camaro bumpers on c10s and they look incredible.

October 18th seems to be the date I need to target.
the 25th is a "TBD" date, so iffy on if they race.

I was thinking of a piece of pvc pipe painted to look like a rusty old water pipe that the 4x4 guys around here run. Should be pretty light.

I cut the bumper today. I haven't put it back on the truck yet, but I will tomorrow. I have to cut the brackets yet. I will say the bumper cut exactly like I had imagined in my mind, so it will be fun to see what it looks like on the truck. I'll show you all Saturday. ALSO, the bumper weighed 35.8 lbs without the brackets. It weighed 20.6 lbs after the cut. BEST place to lose weight is the very, very front. Oh, by the way, I cut that bumper in about 35 minutes, and that's ALL the spare time I had today. LOL

You'd be surprised what a set of ported 915's, hemi grind, headers and 850 dp will do in a stock block low comp 440.
I guarantee it would walk away from a lowly 5.9. :D
Yea apples and oranges. A 5.9 with ported heads and a decent cam with an intake and an 850dp Will donkey stomp a lowly motorhome 440. But we’re not making fair comparisons.

Most low cr 440 torque numbers I've seen are surprisingly close to 360 numbers especially with the 80 Cid difference.

440 will have zero to do with the next couple of weeks of getting this truck into the 12's. Engine and transmission are currently about 75 miles apart... lol, I have almost zero time
