30-day countdown to 12's

Wow congratulations you got there. Well done. I had a very interesting couple days at the track. I’ll tell the whole story on my thread but i basically didn’t get to run the truck. I’m not upset, it is what it is and we had a great weekend regardless.

I'm sure you had fun, but I really wanted to see your truck turn the 1320 ! Glad you went anyways and looking forward to the story!

Congratulations! Good instruction how the little things add up to less slow. (Your words I believe) I think with a 12 second truck we can call it more fast! Makes me want a truck.

Hopefully it will inspire somebody that this hobby can still be enjoyed on the cheap if one has a little patience and is willing to think a little for themself. My budget makes the cheap part easy. It's the think'n part that sometimes trips me up! lol

It’s certainly inspired me to dream of next year. I didn’t make it to the track this year because of other priorities but hopefully this winter’s shop time will see me driving by spring. Cruise a bit to break it in and get to know it again, then hit the quarter mile. At 74 and luckily still counting I should say by the grace of God I may do that.

God Bless you sir! I hope that all works out for you!!

And into the 12’s !
The weather gave us a break! Even though for this time of year it was super humid and hot. I didn’t care. We got to race! I was able to get three passes. We had a blast, and a good callout race. I think you’ll enjoy the video. But for now, here is a ET slip! And I’m heading over to post it in the 12 second small block thread! L O L

Badass dude.

What's next? A long, cold winter... LOL. As for the truck, not sure to be honest.
And today I pulled the short bed out of the shed, and put the Duster in. Getting ready for winter. Drag Truck is still on the trailer, and I think I'll let it spend the winter there. Can't believe how fast 2025 has gone as far as the car stuff goes. November just a couple days away. Time to thaw the Turkey ??? lol

Just received my 1320 video edition Draggy. We’ll have some basic numbers soon. From what I understand the draggys are fairly accurate.

I'm at a loss of where to go from here with our truck.
  • try to shave a little weight and drop a tenth?
  • Actually build a 360 for it?
  • Go with the 440?
  • Gen III Hemi ???
  • I do have a 383 ......
  • Push it in the back for another 3-year time laps???? LOL (exactly what happened this last time)

All those options would be interesting but if you are looking for suggestions, build a 360 would be my vote. Nothing wrong with using your 440 but your handle suggests you’re a small block guy.

I'm a small block guy to the fact that almost everything I buy has a small block. I have more parts for small blocks. But that has no bearing on my like or dislikes for either small block/big block. I love small blocks when they fit nice(er) than a big block. When room is not the worries, I love BB's just as well (or more???). And, lol, my handle is really nothing of any wager on the subject. I just happened to have owned a ton of 318's compared to probably any other engine, and I know they have more potential than given credit for... (and this does NOT mean I would take a free 318 over a free 340 !!~ :D)

My biggest stumbling block is I have too many classics I want to make changes to, and very little time! This indeed is my real project killer.

Or leave it alone and call it done. But we all know that isn’t going to happen. Do something weird. Step out of your comfort zone, supercharge it. Slap a nitrous plate on it, make it 4wd and put 4 flicks on it. Make the truck memorable by viewers somehow.

So you’ve got room for the big block you have. Why not? I’d like to see the how much less slow it would make it.
