have 1973 318 stck cylinder heads, running .30 pistion 9.0:1 340 purple cam, mopar performance thin head gaskets. torqer intake, 625 or 650 carb.. can't remember... headers and performance exhaust...
would these heads with the eldebrock rpm valve springs i have do well? or should i look for 302 castings... would love alumn. heads but out of the budget right now. was planning on doing a little port work ( home pocket port) on them... 360 heads arn't worth the money people want for them out hear pluss would lower my compression alot. mainly a street car with a little fun factor,, can allways upgrade if needed. just looking for some insight...

Joshua, from what I see here, throw a set of Comp #901-16 or Crane #99835 springs on the original heads

and at some point, swap out the Torker for a Eddy Performer, and enjoy what you have.

P.S. if you do use Eddy springs. The #5777 is the one to use for a replacement @1.65" installed height. The one's that come with their heads have a 1.80" installed height and would probably throw more seat pressure to it then you really need.

Josh, try degreeing the cam in, 1st checking where its at now. :)
Like Rick said, go with performer intake if the heads stay on.

Now if you port the heads you may as well open the windows up to a 360 gasket and bolt a LD340/RPM/AIRGAP intake on.
