318 kit question

I got a master kit for a 318 made in 68, and it happened to have a crack in a cylinder, so im going to just take my original engine out of my 74 and bore it and use it, my only problem and concern is that the kit was from 68-73. My question was if there will be any problem with using this kit on my 74 engine and any other ideas would be great.

Ive heard two things from mechanics and part guys, one was, they changed the rod size over the years and the other was that most engines before 83 were the same and I just want the opinion from people who really know there mopars.
