Just for the thought of it, I was wondering what ALL needs to be done to pull a 318 magnum and install a 360 magnum in a Dakota, Durango, or truck? Keeping everything stock. I know the motor will bolt right in, I know the radiator, exhaust, wiring harness is the same.
I'm guessing the ECM would have to be from the 360 (and the correct year for the vehicle)?? Will the 318 torque converter work? If anybody done this, jump in! thanks

The computer *may* still work between the two engines, but it'd be better to get the 360 ecu.

As to the rest, it boils down to the 360 being externally balanced. When the 360 mag first came out in 1993 they had balancing weights on the torque converter. Later on they moved them to the flexplate. If you can, score the flexplate off a early 2000's model engine.

Also, do the kegger mod to the intake manifold while you've got it out. You'll loose torque at 500-800rpms (who cares?) and it'll grow another ******** at 3500rpms.
