Very mild cam, 360 heads, holley 600 vacuum secondary
Currently at 8 btdc base, with silver springs(24btdc) and no limiter, which gives me 32 btdc degrees advance. I'm running the wonderful California crap fuel 91 octane. I have no ping, do I dare bump the base up to 10-12??? for a total 34-36 total advance. There is a vacuum advance which would add another 12 degrees, but under hard acceleration there is not enough vacuum to pull that......... Thoughts? Facts? Statements of opinions?

thanks!
PS it's in my 71 Duster

You should be able to advance it 2 degrees. 34 total will be ok. I run that with my 408 on 91 octane.

Was feeling froggy and went to 12* BTDC base for 36* total. It pings a little under hard acceleration. I backed it back to 10* BTDC for 34* total. Will road test tomorrow morning.
