Have a question for you guys. I know its a simple swap but im on a tight budget so i need to get all the details planned out first. Going from a /6 to a 318in my 74 dart. This is what ive got so far. 318, v8 radiator, headmen headers.

This it what ive come up with

1. V8 k-frame going to try to get one from junkyard, can't see spending 150.00 for the shcumacer mounts. Ill be able to use stock mounts

2. Trans, convertor and possible flexplate. Going to try to find a 904. Should be able to use my stock /6 driveshaft right? At least for a little while.
Also got to get the kickdown linkage.

3. Does any one know if the pulleys from my 6 will work on the 318 im thinking maybe the water pump but not the crank. I have to get the alt. brackets also. Can you use the alt bracket from an ac car even though i dont have ac?

4. Can i use my throttle cable? Also need the throttle bracket.

Ill have a coil and ill use my 6 alternator. Have to get a belt , and rad hoses, should be able to reuse my fan and i also have an electric. Modify the wiring and fuel pump hose routing. I know ill have to get mufflers and exhaust done but if theres anything else anyone can think of please let me know, i dont want something small to stop the project when i get started. It will be a longweekend swap so i can get the car running to get back to work. Thanks alot!

The 6 pulleys will not work. The 6 throttle cable is to long. I swapped my 71 duster to a 8 last year and I changed my k member which was very easy. You don't even have to break the tie rod ends loose.

Thanks for the replies, im going to try to find a trans local, im in florida. i appreicate your offer and may need it. I didn't think the pulleys would work oh well, thanks for the quick answers.

Are you keeping the 7 1/4 rear or upgrading? If you upgrade your /6 driveshaft won't work, it will most likely be too long. It might even be too long now with the V8 904, I can't remember.
If and when you find the kickdown linkage, it might have a bracket that bolts to your intake, that will also have a spot for your gas pedal cable to attach to. You can modify the end that goes to your carb a little and make it work.
I believe your upper rad hose will be different, the lower one mightttt be.
