I put a 440 in an originally 318 68 barracuda. The 440 has an electronic distributor meaning I had to get a Mopar orange box ecu. I've followed the wiring diagram for the ecu but I'm still not getting spark. The ballast resistor and coil are getting power.

I was able to get the car running with the mechanical voltage regulator. As long as I hook one side to the alternator and the other to the ballest resistor it should charge right?

I could be wrong, but do you need a different alternator? Just saying, cause I brought a one wire to use to break in a motor with an electronic dizzy and orange box and was told it wouldn’t work and I needed a later square back

Never tried that when ever I switched ignitions I changed voltage regulator, electronic VR's are reasonably priced and look stock
