318 with no spark

Alright well like the title says, a good friend has a 318 without spark. It died on him as he pulled out of the parking lot. I know this because I pulled out a spark plug and grounded it to a bold as he turned it over (nothin). We just replaced the coil (old one was beat up and dented) and there is still no spark. It looks like his distributor is brand new (summit billet). So what do you guys think?

I once bought a mint 2 door Caravelle 20 years ago for $100 bucks cause my neighbour couldn't get it to run, push it to my house 20 minutes later had running it was the pickup in the distributor came loose he was a little upset wish I never got rid of that car didn't realize they were only made for 2 years.

the 318 is in a 73 duster

Had same problem with my cuda the small wire going to started got too close to header and was not making proper connection to starter.
Did repair started right up
