340 crank pulley and harmonic balancer removal/install

I like this type of gear puller better than the one that you first list:

As for the crank pulley, after the 6 small bolts are out, then try removing the center bolt, sometimes the washer catches the inner lip of the pulley...

then if it still won't come off, give it a few good side ways whacks with a medium or large rubber hammer. Sometimes the paint gets sticky on them after they've been on for years...

Then to reinstall the balancer, just grease the crank nose and use the rubber hammer to get it started, then drive it the rest of the way in with the large center crank shaft bolt...
 
is it internally or externally balanced? 70 duster 340

my father and i are doing a rebuild and i'm learning as i go. all i can find for a replacement are externals
