HI, I want to make my own pair of twin hood scoops like the ones on a '70 340 Dart. If anyone out there that has them and can give me the basic dimensions, I can fab them up and I would greatly appreciate it. All I need to know is the height at the bezel in the front, the width at the front, the width at the rear, and the height at the rear. Stud location isn't really important, I can plot that out myself.

Thanks

Is there any reason why you want to make them instead of buying a pair ? You can pick up a repro pair of scoops pretty cheap compaired to the time and work it will take to make them.

Mainly because of cost. Even the repops are more than what I want to spend on them. Secondly, the quality of the reproduction ones, from what I'm told, is sub-par. Which means they'll probably need reworked anyway. Then you're working with a composite or a plastic and I find steel easier to work. And I don't believe fabricating them will be all that difficult. They are a very simple shape, requiring only a few shrinks and some hammer forming.

Ok, here are some general measurements. Overall length 26", width in front 11 1/2" , width in rear 9", height in front 2" height in rear 1/2". Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the measurements. I appreciate you taking the time to measure them. That should provide a good foundation to work with. I will definately get some pics up once I start them and once they're finished.

Thanks Again!
