Winter is coming and it´s time to wrench. I have a 340 in my ´69 dart, crosswind intake, ede 600, headers, 2,5"dual exhaust, mp ignition, compression is 9,5:1. I will run the car on the street and sometimes on the strip. Now i´m wondering which cam works well with this combo. Heads will be ported, and an axle with low gears is coming in the near future. Think about the comp xe286h. A bigger carb is in the budget too. Any other suggestions?

I am no engine expert by any means but the crosswind and the compression may not be up to handling that cam. Maybe rumble or moper will step in to help ya.

I had my eye on that cam for a similar project... Don't know anything about that intake though...

Have fun puttin it together!!

The 268H is fine with your combo.

A 750 vac sec style holley would be a good upgrade.

A 2500-2800 converter would be another good addition.

I just got my 1970 340 off the engine dyno with the following:
.040 over
XE268H
Eddie performer RPM intake
Eddie 800cfm AFB
stock..non ported/polished 2.02/1.66 J heads
Comp Cams 1.5 Roller Rocker
KB107 10:2 pistons
Pertronix Firestorm Billet Dist
35 degrees total timing

came in at 362hp @ 5400rpm and 395lbs of TQ at 4400RPM

I have a Hughes Engieering 2500 stall and TransGo StageII kit for my 904

and an 8-3/4 in with 3.91 Suregrip.

With my 49 year old carcass in my 1969 Dart it should scoot down the road just fine.

The XE268H is a great street cam. I have one in my 360 (10.6:1 compression, Crosswind, Holley 670). My engine is making approximately 370 HP based on 102 mph trap speeds in the 1/4. It idles close to stock and pulls from 1500 to 6000+ rpm.

FWIW, my butt dyno can not tell the difference between the 670, a 725 I used for several months and the 3310 750 I have on the shelf. But the 670 definitely has better driveability and response below 4500 rpm than the 725 or 750. If you are going to primarily drive on the street stay with a smaller carb even if it gives up a .1 or two at the track, you will overall enjoy driving the car more.

oh, my fault. You guys are right. We talk about the xe268h cam. OK, i think the cam is a good choice. Many thanks for helping
