340 tunnel ram issue

the plugs were changed 2 times. autolites were short style plugs and did not thread very far into holes. the ac delco rapidfires were a platnium plug and hotter and were a long thread plug. timing was set at 24
 
usually header clearance.

but check the range between them, just so you know.

if you were fouling plugs you either have some carb/timing issue or too cold of a plug.
 
and the .750 reach is the length of the threaded portion of the plug.

shorty plugs have nothing to do with reach into the cylinder, they are physically shorter at the ceramic outer portion where you hook the plug wire so that can fit between tight header tubes.
