What makes a 587 head worthwhile? Just curious.

it's a good deal if they are not cracked and you are doing an actual numbers matching restore.
basically, the older iron heads are not as good performance-wise or for weight. but for originality they are required.
the only exception is 426 hemi the iron heads if ported properly make more power, something about keeping the heat in the chamber better helps them slightly. plus for racing in SS/AH there is a weight handicap added if you use aluminum.
