340

:burnout:

Not a expert by any means.... mine is 40 over but it was already done when I bought the car.

Thanks for the answers. I saw a 340 on craigslist with .20 over pistons, needing a rebuild. I've been thinking of finding a 340. I know 360s are cheaper and argueably make more power but i always wanted a 340 a body.

Thanks again,

But .060 is pushing it but if you get it sonic tested you may be OK, just rememberit will run a little warmer with thinne walls. But I have seen a lot of older 318's and 340 at 60.

You should be fine with a 40 over block,i would'nt go 60 without having the block sonic checked,as for a 360 making more power then a 340 that all depends on who builds it..

I also have a 340 that is .060, I filled the block half way with Hardblok to help support the cylinders.
