Now that we put the 3.55 r&p in and put on the 325/60/15's, the calculator and chart says we need a 36 tooth speedo gear to get us reading correctly.

What ya got FABO? Pm me.

Just took a look and no 36s; 1 43, 1 38 and lots of 30s and below.

Know the color off hand I know I have a yellow out there just cant find my chart.

Check Ebay. If you can't find a 36 tooth long gear, try to find a short shaft gear. You can swap shafts from one to the other if you're careful.

I've still got to get back to 694sp on his offer. It should be red gear, I believe. How does the shaft come out? Didn't think about that option - I have a 36 from a Durango (or jeep) I can play with. I've nover looked that close to see how they come apart.

Is the transmission a 65, or does it have a later year trans, like a 66 and up? We should have one at the shop for the later 66-up, and will look later this afternoon if you still need.

Problem solved. I ran with mopowers' idea since I had a short 36 from a late, late, model trans and a few spare long shaft gears lying around. Used a 3/8 drive 13/16 socket to support the gear - put the shaft thru the back of the socket so the flat of it supported the gear. Used an awl to drive it out. Broke one green gear and then had a brain fart... heated the next one up with the wife's hair drier. Rather than using a hammer and shocking it out, used the press. Much easier. Thanks all!
