I took it off my 73 360 4 spd combo external balance engine worked perfect what do you think it's original application was,any imput would be great guys

Thats a small block internal balance flywheel.

if it's a smallblock internal balance flywheel can you tell by the picture of the other flywheel I have for sale what it is for it came off my matching numbers 318 4 spd 68 dart 270 car.I still find it strange that the flywheel I have for sale with the notch cut out of the backside worked perfect with my 73 external balance 360 4 spd setup

That's NOT a 360 flywheel. The small amount taken off is just to true up the balance.

360 flywheels have huge divots out the back.
