Quick question: I have an 82 360 in my Demon and have been having balance issues with the engine since I put it in. Tonight I noticed that the relief cut into my harmonic balancer is 180 degrees off from the relief cut into my B&M flexplate. Is this normal???

Thanks!

Is this a stock dampener or aftermarket unit?Do you have a nother dampener to look to see if it has turned a 1/4-1/2 a turn?Do you have the part number of the dampener?if you have race unit, can you install it and try it.The cut out on the dampener should be 180* to the one on the flex plate,so all the counter weight is in one area.Look at it this way,if you put the cut out part of the dampener at 12 o,clock, the heavy part is at 6 o,clock, the same should be for the flex plate,as a 360 is aexternally balanced motor and needs alot of counter weight. If the two are opposite, they cancel each other and a vibration occurs, mrmopartech
