360 Magnum timing?

Hi, I want to fine tune the ign timing on the 360 Magnum in the Dart. The cam is a Comp roller with .480/.512 lift and 262/264 duration on 1.6 rockers, Edelbrock 600 carb, accel HEI dist and headers. Mech advance is about 30 degrees @ 2500 rpm. Initial timing was set at 20 degrees with vac unplugged. This was probably too much, cause Friday it was hot out (90+) and the guage went over 200 for the first time. Runs good and no pinging. Is 20 degrees too much advance? Also, is 30 degrees mech advance too much? It only started running hotter on acceleration... cooled off in stop and go traffic and at higher speeds.
