Does any of you guys know which was the first year for the
Dodge 383 Magnum engine? And did the Chrysler 300 ever use the "Magnum" name for their engines?
Thanks in advance

The first time I recall seeing Magnum attached to a Dodge engine was the 375/440 in 1967. The first 383 Magnum I recall was in the '68 Super Bee. At the time Mopar made a 330hp 383CID, which is not the Magnum. This engine, with the 440 heads and camshaft became the 383 Magnum and was rated at 335 hp.

I don't recall seeing Magnum anywhere near a Chrysler. I recall seeing a T-N-T pie tin on the air filter housing of a 375/440 in a Chrysler 300.

I've killed a bunch of gray cells since those sightings. Anyone else remember? Remember differently?

Seems to me that Magnum was reserved for Dodge's, Commando was for Plymouths and TNT was for Chrysler and they went form 67-71
