383 oil filter

When I got my Dart it had a Fram PH8A filter on the 383. It is darn near the radiator shroud, and looks to be a bugger to get off. I know they make a 1/2" shorter filter (not the half sized can). Anyone use one? Let me know what brand and number you use. WIX NAPA? Also, is there a filter out there that the design compensates for the shorter length by making the diameter larger? Just askin' . . . thanks Rog

FL1A is what I use. Fram filters restrict flow and allow oil to seep back into pan when engine has not been run.
