Got a 69 dart stock 70 383 2bbl 906 heads bought schumacher try y's want to put a small cam and 4bbl dnt know what I can and can not get away with. Can I use same springs with new cam say Duration 288/298, Lift .444/.466 engine had 50,000 miles if I should do I use 911-16 and do I need new retainers and all or can I get just springs what size carb 650 or 750 got a torqer 2 intake will that do for now just to get it running I know its more for high rpm's now for the bad news im new at this and thought I could use scotch pad to clean head gaskets off and then read its a no no but I blew rings out with air and carb cleaner figured I would chang oil a couple times within a few 100 miles am I ok? Im tryn to be as cheap as possible hard to come up with money fam comes first

Im sure you can use what tou have, are the 906 heads stock or do they have bigger valves like 2.14 1.81, if so they with hit the cylinders of a standard bore 383, for a referance, my dads 65 coronet has a stock bottom end 1965 383, 516 heads with dual springs and 1.74 exhaust valves, mopar .528 solid cam, holley street dominator with an 850 holley double pumper (needs a 650 or 750) and it went 12.65 in his car so its fairly stout. But it wouldnt hurt to have new springs locks and retainers, just get a cam kit that comes with everything

The #906 Cylinder Heads {2.08" Intake} and {1.74" Exhaust Valve} will be
fine for Flow.
On the Valve Springs,
The #906 Cylinder Heads came thru with '2' different Spring Load Rates.
* Heavy Coil w/Damper = Rated at #256 lbs. {Valve Open}
* Single Coil..................... Rated at #208 lbs. {Valve Open}
The Heavy Coil Spring {w/Damper} came thru with a dull red paint coating, and they will be fine with your choice of Camshaft, as they can handle 5500 RPM's.
The Single-Coil {no Damper} will not, as it will float out at 4800 RPM's.
The Comp-Cams {#911-16} have a load-rate at #309 lbs. @ 1.400" {Valve Open}, and are good for 6000 RPM's.
If your using the Summit #K6400 Camshaft {.444"/.466" Lift} with {288*/298* Duration}, that Camshaft
has a power range from 1500 to 5000 RPM's.
Good Low-end Torque and Excellent Mid-range Power.

The Torker II loves 750 CFM Carburetors..............
